City Sell Route Guide

Selling Power in the city is the hinge of every Power Your City session. Generators and Batteries only matter because they feed a sell trip that converts stored energy into Cash you can reinvest. This guide is not a vague “go sell sometimes” reminder — it is a route discipline page: how much Power to carry, when to leave your plot, how to move under steal pressure, and how to line up milestone codes without wasting five-minute timers.

What a sell route actually is

A sell route is the full cycle from checking Battery fill at home, walking or running to the city sell interaction, confirming the payout, and returning before production stalls. Strong players run the same cycle with small variations. Weak players treat every trip as improvisation and lose minutes to hesitation, wrong turns, or selling crumbs while a 2x Cash boost burns.

Your route quality is measured in Cash per minute, not vibes. If two sells in fifteen minutes beat three sells because each payload was larger, you win. If you sell every thirty seconds with half-empty storage because you are nervous about steals, you lose Generator uptime for no gain. Pair this mental model with the upgrade priorities in Make Cash Fast.

When to leave the plot

Leave when the marginal Power you would generate at home during one city round trip is less than what you already hold ready to sell. Early game that often means “Batteries look comfortably full.” Mid game it means “I hit my personal fill threshold and I am not mid-placement.” Late game it means “I timed this sell for a Cash code or a quiet server window.”

Do not leave during messy rebuilds unless you must prevent overflow. Finishing one Generator placement or one Battery expansion before a sell often pays for itself. Do not leave with empty tanks just because you are bored — that is how Cash codes feel weak. Read Boost Tips before Claiming 100KMEMBERS or any 2x Cash string.

How full should Batteries be?

There is no universal percentage, but there is a personal rule you should discover in one honest session. Time how long your main Generator stack takes to fill your primary Battery line from empty. Time your door-to-door sell loop using habits from Controls. If fill time is shorter than loop time, you are selling too early or need more capacity. If fill time is much longer, you are leaving money on the table by wandering the city with slack storage.

Adjust capacity using Batteries literacy and layout ideas from Best Base Setup. A clean exit lane from storage to the map edge saves more Cash than another cosmetic purchase.

Video: sell pressure in real servers

The embedded gameplay clip shows Power Your City city flow and base pressure on a live server. Watch how often the creator returns from sells versus tinkering at home. Use that rhythm as a template, then tighten it for your own fill times.

Plot-to-city movement habits

Movement is part of the route. On PC, pick a consistent camera angle before you walk so you do not spin while moving. On mobile, stabilize the camera before you leave the plot boundary. Practice the lap as a drill: spawn, check fill, sell, return, upgrade — documented step-by-step in Getting Started for first-time players.

Pre-plan where you will re-enter your base after the sell so you land near Generators, not behind a decorative wall. Every second searching for your own storage is a second someone else can raid on a six-player server.

Selling under steal pressure

Full Batteries glow with opportunity for neighbors. If you must sell while the server is hot — during a Discord code rush, for example — treat the trip as a combat movement problem. Sell down before AFK, do not emote in the city, and return on a direct line. Offense and defense details live in Steal Power, but the route guide’s rule is simple: never let steal fear shrink your payloads so much that Generators idle forever.

Sometimes the correct route decision is “wait thirty seconds for the raider to leave” rather than “sprint with half storage.” Patience is a route skill.

Code-aligned sell routes

2x Power (1MVISITS): stay home, let storage climb, do not Claim until capacity is ready. Your “route” during this boost is mostly walking between Battery rows to confirm overflow is not happening.

2x Cash (100KMEMBERS): prep a fat sell first, Claim, then run your fastest city loop. Chain planning belongs in Boost Tips and the Codes Hub. Redeem through Settings using How to Redeem.

Never start a Cash boost sell route while your inventory UI is open or while you are mid-rebuild. Those five minutes do not pause for menu tourism.

Server size and route timing

Power Your City caps at six players per server. Small lobbies reward aggressive sell sizes because steal downtime is lower. Packed lobbies during milestone announcements reward faster turnover: slightly smaller payloads, more frequent trips, less AFK on full storage. Watch who repeats raids and adjust departure timing — not every sell must be maximal.

Route mistakes that look like bad luck

Selling immediately after a cheap upgrade that did not change fill time. Running to the city during a Power boost instead of storing. Claiming Cash with no sellable Power. Taking scenic tours because the city map is new. Rebuilding your exit lane during a boost window. Each mistake is fixable with a written personal threshold: “I sell at X fill visual” and “I never Claim until Y prep is done.”

Advanced: dual-route thinking

Some bases eventually support a “quick dump” route for panic overflow and a “main haul” route for code windows. You do not need two cities — you need two disciplined habits on the same path. Quick dumps prevent Generator idle; main hauls maximize Cash multipliers. Mark which habit you are using before you cross the plot boundary so you do not mix them blindly.

Route skill connects every hub: Guides Hub for narrative strategy, Builds Hub for upgrades that change fill times, Items Hub for Generator output, Updates when map or sell flow patches land, and Official Links for Discord code pings. Master the sell route and Power Your City stops feeling like a walking simulator between random clicks.

Session template: the twenty-minute route block

Minutes 0–3: check Bottleneck and fix one placement issue. Minutes 3–8: one full sell loop without codes. Minutes 8–13: upgrade the constraint you felt. Minutes 13–18: optional second sell or prep storage for a code. Minutes 18–20: sell down if AFK follows. Repeat this block twice before you chase steals or experimental layouts.

FAQ-style reminders before you queue

Ask: Are Batteries fuller than my last successful sell? Is a Cash boost active with a matching payload? Is my exit lane clear? Did I read Controls recently if I changed devices? If any answer is no, fix it at home first. The city will still be there when you are ready.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

When should I sell Power in Power Your City?

Sell when stored Power is large enough that the city trip beats waiting for more production, and when you are not mid-rebuild or mid-boost prep.

Why does my sell route feel slow?

Usually inconsistent movement, selling half-full Batteries, or leaving during placement. Practice one repeated lap via Controls.

Should I sell before using 2x Cash codes?

No — fill storage first, Claim the Cash boost, then run your fastest sell loop. See Boost Tips.

How do steals affect my sell route?

They punish AFK full storage and predictable timing. Sell down before breaks and read Steal Power for defense habits.
